Though they may seem to carry out a very similar function, there’s a wide gulf between emulation and virtualization. But there’s more to come that could improve the transition from Intel to Apple silicon for Mac users-like a virtualization app that would let us launch 10.15 Catalina or previous Intel-only versions of macOS, or Intel flavors of Windows, Linux, and other operating systems.
